Bringing Ideas to Life by Creating Value

I work with a lot of entrepreneurs who quite frankly, can really blow me away with their ideas. The challenge is how to create a business model that will bring their ideas to life.

The cornerstone of their idea is what value they are creating. In my experience value creation has a direct relationship to the problems that they are solving. So the equation is simple:

solve a problem = value creation

Contrary to many opinions, value creation is a process. I work with clients to help them to identify problems and then we work together to identify a set of blockchain value drivers that can be applied to create the value; solve the problem.

In my courses I teach to two different sets of blockchain values drivers.

1. The Tenets of Blockchain, which is a set of unique characteristics of blockchain that can be used to create value.
2. The Generic Application Patterns of Blockchain– these are patterns of blockchain that are native to all blockchain applications that create a unique set of value drivers

I guess the key outtake from this article is that even if you have an idea for a blockchain application, and you are not creating value (solving problems) then it will remain just an idea!
